Undergraduate Students
If you are an undergraduate student interested in conducting independent research, we invite you to reach out and explore the opportunities within our group. We continuously seek enthusiastic students to contribute to our ongoing research projects. To be considered, you should have completed courses in standard chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, and possess a fundamental understanding of laboratory techniques and research methodologies.
Graduate Students
Prospective graduate students are encouraged to apply to PVAMU and indicate Dr. Sameh Abdelwahed as the faculty member of interest. After applying, please email me your CV, unofficial transcripts, and a 1-page research statement (or statement of research interests) that outlines your research background, interests, and future goals. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Postdoctoral Researchers
Interested postdoctoral candidates should send their CV, a research statement, and two reference papers. Postdoctoral positions are contingent on available funding, so we often need to explore additional funding avenues such as fellowships, scholarships, and grants. Potential opportunities include the American Chemical Society (ACS) Postdoctoral Fellowships, the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Postdoctoral Program in Environmental Chemistry, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Chemistry/Biochemistry Postdoctoral Research Fellowships.
